FOTHOU (Fall of the House of Usher) Minneapolis, Minnesota

FOTHOU (Fall of the House of Usher) is:
a dark, resinous, and brutally elegant master shot of musical possibilities— lifting (with a vengeance) from many of the world's deepest groove pockets- East, West, and North African, 80's No Wave skronk, early 70's Miles, Sun Ra, and Good Old New Orleans Vampire Funk— and creating a unique and soul-twisting brand of high energy, postnational slipsync. ... more

Track Name: Odalisque- Hurricane Chimes

Odalisque, Odalisque,
It’s not just you—
It’s the color of the light that makes me feel content tonight, content tonight.

At the front of my mind,
On the tip of your tongue,
All the words we’ve whispered
by fading fires.
We’ve schooled the birds with all the songs we’ve sung

Odalisque, Odalisque—

I’m done,
I’m done.
Track Name: Antchin Yagègnulèt
All my little screens are seeping into my dreams
All the Bézier Curves and trajectories, all the indices and directories
The latticework, lacework, and confectioneries
All the pergolas and black stone rectories
While the detonations in the debtor nations
call out all the traitors and defectors
The supervisors and inspectors, the surgeons and the dissectors
The disbursers and collectors, the disruptors and correctors
The monitors and detectors, the selectors and rejecters
Of the ratios and vectors, the grids, measures, and sectors
The spirits and the spectres
The disengagers and connectors, and the protectors of the nectars
Plunging their ovipositors in positive and negative sepulchers
while the sextons and the rectors are walking all
the balustrades and colonnades
Behind hung curtain rods with window shades
While all the conflagrations with subtle connotations
And the insurgencies within emergencies within absurdities
Raise a fine, fine, mist of powdered bullshit.
Put them back in their sheaths
All the words beneath
The little puffs of gas that escape from between your teeth
Put them back in their hides,
All the words inside the thought balloons that ride the tides
on the mood lagoons made of tears long ago—cried.
Track Name: It Came Right Out of the Sun-Taxi Driver
It Came Right Out of The Sun

It came right out the sun
We never saw it comin’
We never heard the sonic boom;
Never saw it comin’

It hit us right between the cameras,
Right between the pit bulls
Never saw it comin’
Never smelled the burning hair
Never heard the drumming

It came right out of the sun
It came right out of the sun

We never felt it comin’
Never felt it comin’

It came right out the sun
It came right out the sun.
